Below is the review I promised to write for Imperial. Thank you very much. Feel free to shorten it if you feel it is too long!
I first came to Imperial Dental Specialist Centre in 2010 for braces treatment. I met Dr How Kim Chuan on my first visit here. I was told however that braces alone would not be a suitable treatment for me as I had a condition called a Class III skeletal deformity which basically meant that my lower jaw was protruding outwards and that my upper and lower teeth could not meet. My condition was so severe that my upper and lower teeth only had contact at the 4 teeth at the back. Braces alone would not be suitable in my case as I would require surgery to get a proper bite.
Over the years, my condition had caused numerous problems including difficulty in eat, speaking, and breathing and a profile which was not very pleasant. Dr How was excellent in explaining my condition and how I could go about getting the right treatment for my condition. I would require pre surgical braces for a few years, then surgery to fix the relationship between both my jaws and finally braces again to fine tune the bite.
I started my braces treatment at Imperial Dental Specialist Centre in 2012 with Dr How. I was recommended Invisalign aligners for my treatment. I had a consultation with Dr. Raymond, he was very clear with his explanation and pros and cons of the treatment I wanted.
The end result was a decision to have six units made, to bridge my missing teeth. They were finished with Zirconia which is nicer aesthetically.
His care and kindness was so reassuring I trusted him from the beginning. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I got very good value for money and now I have a confident smile which I have been limiting to a grin to hide the gaps. His assistant was very kind and caring also. Got my tooth (molar) extracted and was recommended to do a tooth implant.
Today after 4 months, I got a beautiful molar back. Attention given was superb and every visit, doctors explained what they're going to do. I am happy and very satisfied. Dr How, thanks again for your very quick action last week. I've been used to long waiting periods with Australian dental practitioners and I was just expecting an examination and assessment. I certainly did not expect you to take action immediately! I am very pleased with your services, your staff and I believe your dental procedures and equipment are at least 2 years ahead of the best I have seen in Western Australia!
Your techniques reminded me of a popular show Masterchef Australia. There was a time limit but you were calm, precise, unhurried and still took time to inform me about each stage during to 2 hours of surgery. Even after a week I can't stop smiling! (You didn't give me a dose of nitrous oxide, did you?)

I came from Singapore to see Dr. How for consultation on tooth implants in Oct’ 14, didn’t realise technology had advance so fast. On the same day, I could have the implant straight away, Dr. How is the best dentist, no pain, no complicates, save me many trips from Singapore. 3 months later on 21st Jan I finally had crowns fitted on and no more problems. Thank you to everyone at Imperial Dental Specialist Centre for your expertise and service. My experience at your clinic was the best experience I have ever had getting dental procedures done. I couldn't believe how quick and pain free everything was. I had teeth extracted, dental implants and crowns on all my upper front teeth and I didn't feel a thing. Even the recovery was surprising and I believe this came down to the excellent dentistry skills. Dr How's credentials, knowledge and years of experience say it all, and can guarantee that you are in the best of hands.
Dr. Arlena is amazing and I can't recommend her highly enough. Dr. Arlena takes the time to explain properly what is needed and is quick, skilled, gentle and efficient in her work. Dr. Arlena is a fantastic dentist and is truly an asset to Dr. How's clinic. Dr. Kong was also great and took the time to listen to any of my concerns. The dental assistants and front desk staff are also very attentive, respectful and caring, in particular Priscilla is lovely.
For any prospective international patients, language is not a problem as all staff and doctors speak English perfectly.

Being from Australia, on a non-resident we were anxious about our appointment. It got off to a rocky start with my wife’s treatment taking on a direction we did not direct. However, to your credit matters were rectified (by Dr. Arlena) in a very professional and patient manner. It changed our extremely worried view to one of being in good hands.
If I want to provide any advice I would suggest that the initial consultation was too hurried, more time needed to be spent on a full explanation and implications of the proposed treatment.

Everything was nice especially the dentist Dr. Su was very kind. He told me how he is going to so correctly. The nurses did their job clearly, they did many thing to make me comfortable. After experiencing pain one of my wisdom teeth I came into Imperial to have two of them removed. I was very nervous but Dr. Arlena was excellent. I experienced no pain during the extraction – just a slight feeling of pressure and also had no pain even after both teeth had been removed. I was able to eat dinner an hour and a half alter. I had no noticeable swelling over the next week. It was so much better than I thought it would be. Thank you Dr. Arlena!

My teeth were uneven, dark in colour and lose.
Dr. Raymond picked uo several other things also & made suggestions that I would never had considered as I did not notice. Once my crowns were complete in my mouth you could see all of my teeth. My smile is amazing and they feel so comfortable right from the start.
Dr. Raymond took time to plan my procedures which has given me 100% confidence. They would be a success. And they are so much better that I hoped for.

I had a wonderful experience at Imperial Dental Specialist Centre. After my first consultation with Dr. How, I decided on the full mouth rehabilitation programme, which included implant and crowns. The treatment was conducted over a period of several months which was interrupted on occasion by travel commitments.

I travelled from New Zealand to Malaysia to specifically have dental cosmetic surgery by Dr. How. Researching Dr How, his experience, his purpose built clinic. Beverly Wilshire was eclipsed by the practical experience!
Dr How with credentials that read like an elaborate cuisine recipe were irrelevantly ignored and cast aside, as Dr How the man, the professional conducted, carried out personally or had a very close eye directing and critiquing his other medical staff: moment by moment, step by step, second by second! There was a complete feeling of confidence, familiarity and in total control that oozed from Dr How. Quick to amend a slight of hand of his chair side assistants, I knew that this man, THIS true professional, tolerated nothing but excellence!
I was in good hands. The result, a twenty year old smile on a 50 plus year old whom Dr How had rectified old blackened fillings and amongst other procedures; gave me back my youthful smile. The down side to this international experience: Dr How did not warm me about side effects = i.e. I suffer severe cheekitis.
Cheekitis= some muscles of the cheek bone due to excessive smiling!

I presented at the Imperial Dental Specialist Centre Centre with a chipped and sensitive tooth, a discolored front tooth, along with other problems of aging teeth.
Dr. How Kim Chuan advised me on what the best solution was to correct all of my problems. As a result, I now have a complete set of upper crowns which look and feel excellent and will last me for the remainder of my life.
Both the doctor and his staffs were efficient, showed concern for my wellbeing, sure handed and as a result, I am extremely happy with the end result.
This took only 8 days to achieve. The temporaries fitted between appointments were also excellent. The equivalent amount of dental work in Australia would have been unaffordable for me and would have taken a great deal more time.
